Waki Honjin is a preliminary facility of the Honjin established at the lodging in the Edo era. It was used when a hindrance to Honjin occurred, such as when it is a big clan and it can not be stayed only by Honjin or when the clans are colluded with each other, the formalities are used as lodging of lower clan. Honjin in principle was not allowed to stay for ordinary guests, but Asaka Honjin also served as guests' accommodation when there was no use such as Daimyo and Teshin. Although the scale is smaller than Honjin, all the formulas are in accordance with Honjin and there are also upper stages and others, as well as Honjin served as influential leaders.
