• The Mieji-juku

The Mieji-juku is the 56th lodging counted from Edo. From, there it is said that the river at the entrance of Meji was named GoRoku(56)River. The Mieji-juku stood approximately 4.7 km from the Goudo-juku. The town had a population of 582 (man 302、woman 280),136 houses, one daimyo house, and 11 hatago in the year 1843.
