• The Takamiya-juku

The Takuya-juku prospered as Taga Taisha's Monza Town, "If you go to Ise, you will come to Taga and Ise is a child of Taga"There were wholesalers and retail outlets handling specialty "Takamiya Cloth". Takamiya cloth is a hemp fabric. Takamiya-juku was located about 5.9 km from the Tonimoto-juku. The town had a population of 3,560 (man 1,755、woman 1805), 835 houses, one honjin,two waki-honjin, and 23 hatago in the year 1843.

The two ladies in front are carrying hemp stems, a local specialty of the region. It was used for welcoming fires during the ceremonial obon period.
